Accounting Supervisor

As Accounting Supervisor, you will work for a nonprofit organization that is committed to maximizing the investments made by our donors to improve the lives of individuals with food allergies. 

• Perform financial schedules and analysis to ensure that project and activity-based reporting is properly captured on a timely basis.
• Assist the Accounting Director and Accounting Manager in the Monthly Financial Reporting Package prepared for the CFO.
• Build reports for higher level associates.
• Provide management and research partners with project statuses
• Perform reporting and analysis to support presentation and ad-hoc requests. 
• Ensure that activity-based expenses are reviewed and recorded appropriately.
• Update the monthly activity (revenue and expense) associated with time or purpose restricted net assets and to ensure they are properly book-kept. 
• Financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and Profit & Loss (P&L) management.
• Be a financial partner providing support for the Accounting Director and CFO on special project-based funding proposals (done in concert with Senior Management). 
• Coordinate and collect input data from functional departments, check data integrity, summarize, and convert data, run models, verify, analyze, and communicate output data.
• Independently manage and prioritize workload.
• Manage and track restricted funds.
• Process employee expenses and reimbursements and review for coding and compliance. 
• Future Opportunity (at the decision of the Director of Accounting) to supervise one accounting staff-member. 

• Strong communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills. 
• Well organized and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written skills and facility with numbers.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues, doctors/researchers, donors. They are your customers.
• PC Skills: Word/Excel/PowerPoint – you need to be a ‘Pivot Table’ guru.

• Accounting BA (CPA desired) with strong accounting and data analysis/desktop tool skills.
• Minimum of 2-5 years business experience, more experience will be considered.
• 18+ months experience in accounting
