Dr. Brian Vickery is a pediatric allergist-immunologist at Emory University and founding Director of the Food Allergy Center at Emory + Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He is an emerging leader in food allergy who for the past 12 years has run productive and consistently funded research teams focused on improving patient outcomes in food allergy by developing innovative treatments. This individual and collaborative work, from preclinical murine model systems to Phase 3 trials, has advanced the field and yielded over 50 publications (h-index 31). Dr. Vickery has contributed to the development of national food allergy guidelines, received several research awards, and given numerous invited presentations. He is currently Vice-Chair of the AAAAI Adverse Reactions to Foods Committee, a Chief Medical Advisor for Patient Experience at Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE) and a member of FARE’s Outcomes Research Advisory Board. He is committed to developing the careers of the next generation of clinicians/researchers in allergy, and over the last 12 years has mentored 13 trainees, 10 of whom are in the academic or public sector.
