Feasting with FARE: Brownies

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp egg replacer (bob’s red mill or ground flax)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup non-dairy milk
  • 1 stick vegan butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup gluten free flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Optional:

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp chili powder
  • 1 cup vegan chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
  2. Grease a 8x8 pan with non stick spray.
  3. Combine the egg replacer and water and set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugars, milk, and vanilla.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  6. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet until combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips
  8. Spread the batter in the pan.
  9. Bake for 25-35 until a toothpick comes out clean.
