FARE Releases Educational Resources for Those Without the Disease of Food Allergy

MCLEAN, Va. – Feb. 22, 2024 -- FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education), the largest US nonprofit organization dedicated to driving research toward new therapeutics and a cure for life-threatening food allergies, today announced the introduction of educational resources for those without a food allergy, aimed at encouraging new allies for those with the disease.

“Food Allergy is a serious and potentially life-threatening disease. By learning about food allergies, you can be an ally for those with the disease, and you may even save a life,” said Sung Poblete, PhD, RN, CEO of FARE.

More than 33 million people in the US are living with food allergy, and that number is growing with one in 13 children and one in 10 adults afflicted.

The materials created and curated by FARE are accessible from this page and cover everything someone without a food allergy needs to know, including a new documentary that offers a look at what it’s like to manage this disease, showing a day-in-the-life of someone with food allergy.
The full group of materials includes:

It’s a Disease, Not a Diet
