FARE Announces Public Service Announcements “The Kitchen” and “Ready to Act” as Winners in the 5th Annual Anthem Awards
McLEAN, Va.—Nov. 18, 2025—FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) today announced it has been honored as a Silver Winner in the 5th Annual Anthem Awards for two public service announcements (PSAs): “Ready to Act” and “The Kitchen,” featuring the award-winning actress Angela Bassett and Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty.
The Anthem Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, celebrate purpose-driven work that inspires social impact.
The “Ready to Act” PSA, featuring acclaimed actress Angela Bassett, underscores the importance of being prepared to respond in an emergency because as first responders know, emergencies don’t wait.
The PSA titled “The Kitchen” stars Jason McCourty—former NFL player, Super Bowl champion, food allergy dad, and FARE Innovation Ambassador—alongside his daughter, Kai. This PSA blends the growing popularity of pickleball with storytelling to highlight the importance of preparation in managing food allergies—because every day is the big game.
“Public service announcements are essential to any nonprofit’s mission because they allow us to reach beyond our community to educate the general public,” said Sung Poblete, PhD, RN, CEO of FARE. “FARE represents the more than 33 million people in the U.S. alone managing food allergy, a serious disease of the immune system that can cause life-threatening reactions. For years, we have worked to break out of the echo chamber and raise public awareness of food allergy as a disease and not a diet, and with these PSAs, we’ve finally done that. When celebrities lend their voices to a cause, they help make the impossible possible. We’re deeply grateful to Jason McCourty and Angela Bassett for their time and generosity—without them, we couldn't have done this. When we unite, we create extraordinary impact, proving that collective action drives meaningful change. We’re thrilled that The Anthem Awards is recognizing the hard work and impact of these PSAs!”
Both “Ready to Act” and “The Kitchen” were produced through the support of ARS Pharmaceuticals. To learn more about FARE, visit us at www.foodallergy.org.
