Today, one in 13 children has food allergies, or roughly two in every classroom. Just 30 years ago, food allergies weren’t even on the radar, but now the numbers are climbing.
In response to this emerging epidemic, FARE, the leading national organization dedicated to food allergy research, education, advocacy, and awareness, developed Keeping Students Safe and Included, an evidence-based training resource that aligns with the CDC’s Voluntary Guidelines for Managing Food Allergies in Schools and Early Care and Education Programs, to help school personnel learn how to create an environment where students with food allergies are safe and included.
