This webinar will help school personnel and families better understand food allergies and allergic reactions, while offering practical strategies to create a safer, more inclusive school environment for students with food allergies. Panelists and FARE team members Dr. Kelly Cleary and Tiffany Leon, MS, RD, will explore best practices from FARE’s Food Allergy Management in Schools (FAMS): Expert Recommendations for K–12. Attendees will learn how to effectively partner with teachers, school nurses, and staff, important questions to ask before the school year starts, and how to develop a Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan and a Section 504 plan. The session will also include tips for packing safe lunches, navigating classroom celebrations, and empowering children to advocate for themselves.
About the Panelists
Katelyn Biolo, MPH

Katelyn Biolo, MPH, is a passionate public health professional who has worked with organizations such as USAID, FHI 360, Save the Children, and Abt Global, where she supported initiatives focused on gender-based violence prevention, reproductive health, stigma reduction, and health systems strengthening. Katie holds a Master of Public Health from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with a minor in Public Health from The George Washington University.
Dr. Kelly Cleary

Dr. Kelly Cleary is the Medical Director for FARE. She oversees FARE’s national education efforts and maintains a variety of programs, resources, and relationships for the food allergic, their families, and caregivers. Previously, Kelly was the Medical Director of Psychopharmacology for PM Behavioral Health, where she was responsible for the oversight of medication management and operations for the behavioral health service. Kelly also co-founded UrgiKids, a pediatric urgent care in Naperville, Illinois which was subsequently acquired by PM Pediatrics. A graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Kelly completed her Pediatrics residency at New York Presbyterian Cornell, and finished her Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at NYU-Bellevue. She is currently pursuing a master’s in public health degree at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Tiffany Leon, RD, MS

Tiffany Leon, MS, RD, is the Assistant Director of Training and Professional Programs at FARE, Tiffany supports the development of educational materials and training programs for key target audiences, including registered dietitians, healthcare professionals, commercial foodservice operators, and, of course, those with food allergies! She has been a Registered Dietitian for 12 years and has earned degrees from James Madison University and Columbia University.
