Join us for "Food Allergy Management in Schools (FAMS)" a three-part webinar series designed specifically for school professionals—including teachers, nurses, administrators, and staff.
Webinar #2, which takes place on Thursday, March 12, will focus on strengthening allergy prevention and emergency preparedness practices in educational settings. We will begin with a brief overview from session one, then tackle practical classroom strategies to reduce risk, including cleaning and handwashing best practices, inclusive protocols that support all students, and considerations around nut-free school policies. We will address tricky situations about managing food allergy during OST (out of school) time, like buses, field trips, after school activities, and PTO events.
Participants will also learn how to develop effective emergency response protocols for allergic reactions—including for individuals without a previously known allergy—along with best practices for epinephrine storage and current recommendations for stock epinephrine in schools. Our panelists include Dr. Kelly Cleary, Kaitlyn Falk, Linda Neumann, RN, and Dr. Michael Pistiner. Come ready with your questions! This will be a dynamic conversation full of ideas you can put into action immediately.
