Statement from Sung Poblete, PhD, RN, CEO of FARE, on California Bill SB 568
"We're pleased to support California bill SB 568, which clarifies that the requirement to stock epinephrine for emergency use includes preschool programs, extending vital protection to those students and closing a gap that was present in the original legislation. The bill also broadens the definition of stock epinephrine to include innovations beyond auto-injectors such as nasal spray epinephrine, allowing schools to select the solution they deem best for their student community. SB 568 offers important updates to existing requirements and exemplifies the kind of forward-thinking we need to support America’s students as the prevalence of food allergy continues to rise.”
