Network Now Features 30 Leading Institutions

McLEAN, Va. (April 4, 2018) – Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) is pleased to announce today the addition of New York’s largest healthcare provider to the FARE Clinical Network, a national collaborative that is helping to accelerate the development of therapies for food allergy and working to improve the level of care for patients.

With the addition of Northwell Health, the FARE Clinical Network now comprises 30 research and clinical care facilities across the country that are considered leaders in the field of food allergy, working together with FARE to improve access to high-quality care and advance critically needed research that will improve quality of life for millions affected.

Launched in 2015, the FARE Clinical Network represents an investment by FARE of approximately $6.5 million since it was created. Under FARE’s leadership and coordination, FARE Clinical Network members serve as sites for clinical trials for the development of new therapeutics, develop best practices for the care of patients with food allergies and in some cases, will contribute to the steadily growing FARE Patient Registry.

“In less than three years, we have made great strides with the FARE Clinical Network, which has played a key role in driving food allergy research forward through FARE’s support to institutions across the country that have set themselves apart with their dedication to serving the food allergy community,” said James R. Baker, Jr., MD, CEO and chief medical officer of FARE. “We share in this mission and are pleased to welcome Northwell Health to the FARE Clinical Network.”

Later this month, FARE will be bringing together representatives from FARE Clinical Network centers of excellence for its annual Research Retreat, attended by patient advocates and regulatory officials. In designated communities, FARE Clinical Network sites also work with FARE’s Community Engagement team on local awareness and education efforts.

The centers of excellence selected as part of the FARE Clinical Network provide high-quality clinical and sub-specialty food allergy expertise and services, and are focused on applying new evidence-based knowledge to this important field.
