Food Allergy Fundamentals is Live

August 24, 2022 (McLean, VA) – Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) is proud to announce that the FARE Food Allergy Academy’s “Food Allergy Fundamentals” (a comprehensive curriculum that aims to reduce disparities in healthcare access by providing a roadmap for the optimal care of patients with food allergies) is now live with a fully interactive curriculum of 28 educational training modules. This two-year project is based on the 2020 Food Allergy Primer by Dr. Thomas B Casale, MD, Chief Medical Advisor at FARE. Dr. Casale is also Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, and the Director, Division of Allergy and Immunology Joy McCann Culverhouse Clinical Research Center at the University of South Florida.

To complete this project, FARE worked with 31 leading experts in the food allergy field across the United States to design each module and ensure a sound educational piece. This curriculum has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through both the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) and Food Allergy Research and Education. The AAAAI is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Food Allergy Academy was able to secure 14.75 CME credits through the AAAAI as well as receive a $8,750 grant from Genentech to support this important program.

You can view the entire curriculum on the Food Allergy Academy site (www.foodallergyacademy.org); search “Food Allergy Fundamentals – complete curriculum.” In addition to the full curriculum, there are different courses focused on specific topics such as diagnostics, therapeutics and prevention.

Please join us in congratulating the Education Team on such an impressive accomplishment.
