FARE Raises More Than $1 Million at 2026 Gala to Advance Food Allergy Research, Education and Advocacy

FARE honors Chef Tyler Florence with the FARE Hospitality Leadership Award and ARS Pharma with the FARE Trailblazer Award

McLEAN, Va., Oct. 23, 2026 — FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) today announced that it raised more than $1 million at its 2026 Gala, held Oct. 21 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. Funds raised support FARE’s work to prevent, manage and cure food allergy, a disease that affects more than 33 million people in the U.S. alone.

Under the theme “Creating a Table for All,” the evening brought together the food allergy community and its supporters. Janai Norman, journalist, author and former news anchor, hosted the evening and spoke about her family’s food allergy journey.

FARE honored Chef Tyler Florence with the FARE Hospitality Leadership Award and ARS Pharma with the FARE Trailblazer Award, recognizing their respective commitments to advancing safety and innovation for the food allergy community.

Ms. Norman and Chef Florence joined FARE as recently elected Board members, both of whom are looking forward to doing more for FARE’s food allergy mission.

“Food allergy can begin at any age, and the science we advance today may one day protect you, your children, and your grandchildren,” said Sung Poblete, PhD, RN, CEO of FARE. “That is why FARE is bringing more people to the table, from more disciplines, more institutions and more scientific communities. Because science for one benefits everyone.”

Comedian and impressionist Matt Friend headlined the evening’s entertainment and, as a member of the FARE community, shared his personal food allergy story with humor, reminding guests that while food allergy is no laughing matter, laughter can bring people together.

The Gala comes as FARE is poised to enter its 15th year, with progress across its work to prevent, manage and cure food allergy:

Prevent — Early introduction guidance is now part of the 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and FARE is working with members of Congress to have infant-safe allergenic foods added to WIC infant food packages so more families can benefit.
Manage — The FARECheck program trained more than 120,000 food service professionals in 2025, with more news on restaurant training to come in November.
Cure — FARE’s Nobel laureate-led Mind Meld Team Grant Program is dedicating up to $10 million in grants to multidisciplinary, multi-institutional teams.

FARE thanks everyone involved in making the evening possible. To support FARE’s work, visit foodallergy.org
