FARE Presents Patrick Mahomes’ ‘15 and FARE’ Game-Worn Cleats to Kansas City Health Systems at Back-to-School Event
McLEAN, Va.—August 6, 2025— FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) today announced that it has presented Patrick Mahomes’ game-worn ‘15 and FARE’ cleats to Children’s Mercy and The University of Kansas Health System during a back-to-school event held earlier this week. The event highlighted back to school tips and tricks, up and coming research, and new treatments, as well as the latest options for epinephrine administration. The cleats were part of the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats campaign, with 15 and FARE named as the beneficiary of Mahomes’ participation in the auction last November.
LK snacks, a Top 9 allergen-free meat snack brand, purchased the cleats at auction, generously donating one cleat each to the two area health systems. The cleats were presented by FARE CEO, Sung Poblete, PhD, RN at this week’s event. Both organizations are key as 15 and FARE leads the effort to bring the community health initiative, FARE Neighborhoods, to Kansas City.
“This moment is a celebration of what’s possible when purpose-driven organizations come together to make a difference,” said Dr. Poblete. “We’re deeply grateful to Brittany and Patrick Mahomes and their 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, to LK snacks, and to the allergy departments at Children’s Mercy and The University of Kansas Health System. Each has shown unwavering dedication to the food allergy community in Kansas City and beyond. This collaboration marks another important step toward ensuring that every child, individual, and family has the resources to confidently manage this disease.”
15 and FARE is a partnership between FARE and the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, announced in 2024. In addition to FARE Neighborhoods, 15 and FARE is bringing Food Allergy Academy training to area restaurants, enabling safer dining experiences for individuals and families living with food allergies.
