Food Allergy Leader’s Redesign to Streamline Access to Resources, Increase Community Engagement and House Life-Changing Research

McLean, Va. (January 29, 2020) – Today, FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education), the world’s largest private funder of food allergy research, is proud to announce the launch of its newly designed website. The new site features a streamlined design, enhanced functionality and simplified access to key information for the food allergy community, its supporters and public at large. The update is just one part of the organization’s efforts to advance its position as a leader in food allergy working each day to reshape the research landscape, raise awareness and funds for food allergy research and overall work towards the greater goal to improve the lives of those living food allergies.

“Thirty-two million Americans are living with potentially life-threatening food allergies and FARE is focused on doing its part to advance research, educate the community and general public on this epidemic and advocate for improvements geared at making the world safer for these individuals,” said Lisa Gable, chief executive officer of FARE. “Our website is the front door for anyone who wants to be more aware and better educated on food allergies. Foodallergy.org is now streamlined to improve access to our library of resources and information most critical to our food allergy community and is designed to energize our followers around advocacy and support opportunities and to better engage with anyone seeking to learn more or get involved in our fight to end food allergies.”

According to recent FARE-commissioned data, diagnoses of anaphylactic food reactions have risen by 377 percent in the U.S. since 2007. Now is the time for change and FARE is focused on bringing attention and action to the issue and working towards high-impact solutions for the food allergy community including accelerating and expanding research collaboration. With the support of the food allergy community and its allies, FARE’s goal is to lead the way in the development of new therapies and, ultimately, find a cure.

“Food allergies don’t begin and end with an individual. They affect that individual’s entire world – from immediate family to classmates, teammates and colleagues. It is FARE’s duty to raise awareness and drive change on behalf of 32 million individuals and improving our website is one way we hope to improve our accessibility and reach and to accomplish our goals,” added Gable.
