Come Spend Halloween With Us—Welcome to OctoberFARE!

FARE opens registration for its fall event, OctoberFARE, gathering the food allergy community, clinical experts, and public health advocates from October 30–November 1 in Washington, D.C.

McLEAN, Va.—July 7, 2025 FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) today announced registration is now open for OctoberFARE! This three-day event, held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C., is a unique venue for gathering the food allergy community, offering more than 30 sessions and workshops between October 30–November 1. FARE’s second annual FARE Neighborhoods Day (FND) for public health advocates and its annual Clinical Development Day (CDD) for researchers, each offered by invitation only, will begin the event, followed by the Food Allergy Summit.

Leading allergists, Robert A. Wood, MD, and Zachary Rubin, MD will be the keynote speakers for the Food Allergy Summit during OctoberFARE.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the food allergy community in Washington D.C. over Halloween weekend for an event perfectly timed to leverage one of our most important awareness initiatives, Teal Pumpkin Project,” said Sung Poblete, PhD, RN, CEO of FARE. “OctoberFARE will feature more than 30 sessions and workshops led by the foremost experts in food allergy, offering insights and practical guidance for attendees. On October 31, right in heart of this event, we’re hosting a Halloween extravaganza—a celebration filled with wicked fun for all attendees!”

Agenda highlights include:

  1. Parenting Kids with Food Allergy: Mindfully Navigating Child Development and Your Own Worry—Speaker: Tamara Hubbard, LCPC, founder of the Food Allergy Counselor and author of upcoming book, “May Contain Anxiety: Managing the Overwhelm of Parenting Children with Food Allergy.”
  2. Microbiomes and Food Allergy: Is the Answer Already Inside Us?—Speaker: Cathryn Nagler, PhD, Bunning Food Allergy Professor at University of Chicago
  3. From First Snap to First Kiss: Navigating the Teen Years with Food Allergies—Speaker: Michael Pistiner, MD, MMSC, Director of Food Allergy Advocacy, Education and Prevention, Food Allergy Center for the Mass General Brigham Hospital for Children
