McLEAN, Va., KANSAS CITY—July 7, 2026—FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education), together with 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, today announced that their joint initiative, 15 and FARE, will host a Back-to-School event on July 18 at the Kansas City Public Library, Plaza Branch, for Kansas City-area families managing food allergy.
The free open-to-the-public event will provide families with health resources and support as they head into the new school year.
“Back-to-school is an exciting milestone for children and families, but it can also be a time of heightened concern for those managing food allergy,” said Sung Poblete, PhD, RN, CEO of FARE. “From cafeteria lunches and classroom activities to field trips and extracurricular programs, parents are preparing their children to navigate environments where they may encounter food allergens without a parent or caregiver by their side. Our goal is to provide families with practical resources, education, and confidence as they head into the new school year. Through 15 and FARE, we’re proud to partner with 15 and the Mahomies Foundation to bring these resources directly to Kansas City-area food allergy families.”
Since its launch in 2024, 15 and FARE has brought food allergy resources and community support to families in the Kansas City area. The Back-to-School event builds on that commitment by creating opportunities for families to learn, connect, have fun and prepare for the school year—there's even a special giveaway!
“As a food allergy mom myself, I know how important it is for families to feel prepared and supported, especially during back-to-school season,” said Brittany Mahomes, food allergy advocate and 15 and the Mahomies co-founder. “For parents managing food allergies, having access to trusted resources and a strong community can make all the difference. 15 and the Mahomies is proud to partner with FARE to bring Kansas City families together for a day of learning, connection and fun.”
The event will take place from 1-4 PM, with check-in beginning at 12:45 PM. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register early. To register, visit us here.
