2024 Courage at Congress Recap

This year’s event was our biggest to date, drawing a crowd to Washington, D.C., to educate and motivate legislators on Capitol Hill.

The Courage at Congress: Advocate for a Cure fly-in, March 4–6, 2024, welcomed more than 250 advocates from 42 states including first-time representatives from Alabama, Alaska, and Hawaii.

The event combined a day and a half of information-gathering and community-building, before a full day on the Hill. Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost (D-FL-10), who has life-threatening food allergies, discussed H.R. 6965, his legislation to cap the cost of epinephrine auto-injectors. FARE’s community also heard from senior members of the Food and Drug Administration.

The fly-in culminated in visits to more than 200 congressional offices and meetings with 41 elected officials! Congratulations to our amazing advocates, who helped secure four new cosponsors for the Allergen Disclosure In Non-Food Articles (ADINA) Act and add three members to the Congressional Food Allergy Research Caucus.
