Senior Grants Manager

1. Comprehensive Grants Administration (Full Life Cycle) 
   1. Provides administration for the grants process throughout all stages including receiving, assessing, tracking, payment requests, documenting all inquiries and/or proposals; assuring that submitted documentation meets all organizational and legal requirements; and maintaining accurate and timely records of FARE’s grant-making and other programmatic activities.
   2. Drafts and negotiates award agreements, renewals, and prepare related documentation: 
      1. Defines and drafts terms particular to each grant award 
      2. Establishes reporting and payment schedules 
      3. Reviews with supervisor, CFO, and legal counsel, as appropriate 
      4. Coordinates full execution with grantees via DocuSign platform 
   3. Tracks and reviews grant terms and compliance documents such as annual, interim, and closeout reports.
   4. Coordinates review of no-cost extensions requests and related amendments (e.g. principal investigator or institutional transfers, subawards, etc.).
   5. Reviews relevant financial progress reports (e.g., FSRs) on a periodic basis to ensure fiduciary duty and budgetary insight.
   6. Processes timely disbursements of grant payments by established milestones including tracking and updating payment schedules. 
   7. Maintains expert documentation for grants portfolio to support regulatory reviews, audit requests, etc. 
2. FARE Grants Management Portal 
   1. Serves as super user for FARE’s Grants Management Portal which utilizes FLUXX. 
   2. Creates and edits software templates, code and reports.
   3. Provides technical assistance to grantees with online application and reporting processes.
   4. Maintains relationship with grants management software vendor.
   5. Trains other FARE staff on grants management software as necessary.

• Advanced MS Office skills required. 
• Familiarly with grants management software (e.g., FLUXX) a plus.  
• HTML programming skills or willingness to learn.
• Ability to implement effective workflow processes, procedures, and policies. 
• Strong organizational and project management skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail. 
• Ability to take initiative and manage projects assigned through completion with minimal supervision. 
• Exhibits a positive attitude and professional demeanour.
   

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, health sciences, or related field.
• Minimum of 5-10 years grants management/administration or related experience required.
• Experience with nonprofits and/or health sciences research highly desirable.
