Senior Director, Patient Registry and Integrated Data Services

McLean, VA (Remote location considered)

The Senior Director of Patient Registry and Integrated Data Services will be responsible for leading and overseeing the overall strategy and implementation of FARE’s integrated patient data strategy beginning with the expansion of the Patient Registry.  The senior director of the program will lead on-going patient data strategy development, project workplanning, implementation, operations, stakeholder engagement and financial health.

This role will report directly to the Chief of Strategy and Innovation at FARE and will work closely with FARE’s Chief Medical Advisor for Operations and other medical advisors to FARE.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the on-going strategy and implementation of FARE’s integrated patient data strategy including the FARE Patient Registry 
  • Managing a team of FTEs (2-5 direct reports over time), consultants and external vendors who will be critical to executing the patient data strategy 
  • Developing project scope, objectives, specifications, and critical path actions for new data feeds and related analytics 
  • Directing new application specifications, devopment requirements, service models and engagement tools to integrate into FARE’s patient data offering
  • Identifying and leading potential partnerships to accelerate the scale of FARE’s patient data repository 
  • Tracking progress and metrics. Reporting on the usage of the Patient Registry and other data offerings
  • Working with senior leadership to set, meet and manage budget objectives
  • Ensuring HIPAA and institutional compliance in all aspects of the work including the ability to meet partner / membership milestones that FARE is contractually obligated to meet
  • Mobilizing staff resources, establishing trusting relationships, managing people effectively and problem solving to meet deliverables
  • Providing in-house industry and technical expertise related to best practices for collecting and analyzing large, population-level patient data sets 
  • Being an ambassador of FARE and attend external meetings and confernces as appropriate

Education and Experience

  • Masters in Publich Health or related field preferred
  • Bachelors Degree required in a relevant healthcare, business, computer science, or other related field
  • 10+ years in information technology, preferably in a healthcare or research setting
  • 5+ years of experience managing small and large-scale projects in a healthcare setting
  • 3+ years of personnel management experience
  • Understanding of the healthcare technical / IT / data landscape
  • Knowledge of research and clinical systems 
  • Expertise in data integration required including prior experience dealing with EHR interoperability
  • Experience and expertise with major EHR vendors such as Epic and Cerner strongly preferred
  • Preferable, but not required, to have an interest in food allergy
