Research Grant Administrator reports to FARE’s Chief of Strategy and Innovation who is responsible for leading the Research Strategy and program implementation to ensure FARE achieves it mission to improve the quality of life of individuals with food allergies.  The individual will work closely with the Research team, the FARE Clinical Network, and the COO/CFO to develop budgets; review and prepare grant proposals, administer previously awarded grants, and provide monthly measurement reviews and other timely feedback; and work closely with the Research team and the external Research Principal Investigators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Grants - works closely with Chief of Research and Chief Medical Advisor

  • Draft Award Agreements and Documentation
    • Define terms particular to each grant awar
    • Establish reporting and payment schedules
    • Review with supervisor and legal counsel, as appropriate
  • Ongoing Communication with Grantees & Donors
    • Track achievement of stated milestones and trial recruitment efforts
    • Draft restricted funding donor reports
  • Grant Disbursements
    • Ensure timely disbursements of grant payments (Concur) upon receipt of appropriate reports/updates from grantees
  • Internal Systems
    • Update/revise budgets, cash flow, and payment schedules in our ERP system and Excel; assist with budget planning
    • Update grant payment schedule (Excel)
  • Documentation
    • Maintain research portfolio files electronically to support regulatory reviews, audit requests, etc.

    Candidate Profile

    • College Degree, business preferred 
    • Minimum of 5-10 years business experience 
    • Experience in scientific and/or research grant administration, with a preference for medical or pharmaceutical industry research grant experience
    • Well organized and ability to work under pressure
    • Excellent verbal  and written skills and facility with numbers
    • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, doctors/researchers, donors
    • PC Skills:  Word/Excel/PowerPoint
