Amy's Kitchen Announces Packaging Change - Pesto Pizza
Amy’s Kitchen is a family owned business and dedicated to producing safe, delicious and wholesome food. Amy’s Kitchen is in the process of updating packaging for the Pesto Pizza. In this process, we will be removing a statement about tree nuts on the front of the package. The statement says: CONTAINS NUTS. This statement is not required on the front of the package, and it is being removed for consistency purposes.
While the front of the packaging has changed, the ingredients and the manufacturing procedures for this product have not. The ingredient statement will continue to list all the ingredients including pine nuts. The CONTAINS statement found on the back of the package below the ingredient statement will list the allergens present in the product that are on the FDA Big-8 list, i.e., CONTAINS TREE NUTS (PINE NUTS). This package change will be implemented in March 2018.
As always, we encourage consumers with food allergies to carefully read the labels and always read both the ingredient statement and the CONTAINS statement for any product they select prior to purchase. For more information, please contact Amy’s Kitchen at 800-643-0570.
