Until there’s a cure, education is the key. That’s the central message behind FAAN’s programs. Our educational initiatives reach parents, children, young adults, educators, health professionals, and others in an effort to teach individuals how to effectively manage their food allergies, and to reduce the number of food allergy reactions that occur.

FAAN has a vast array of educational materials ranging from guides and lesson plans for school professionals to food allergy-related storybooks for children. Our programs include annual Food Allergy Conferences and an annual Teen Summit.

Other educational resources include multimedia training programs for food service staff, schools, and child care centers, a members-only bimonthly newsletter, and websites for both kids and teens (www.faankids.org and www.faanteen.org). FAAN has also established a School Nurse Scholarship Program to help nurses implement school food allergy management policies.
