Food Allergy Research
FARE is the world’s largest private source of funding for food allergy research. For nearly two decades, FARE has sponsored the best and the brightest investigators at major medical centers worldwide. We invest in basic and clinical research to develop new therapies that protect individuals with food allergies against life-threatening reactions, to discover the cause of food allergies, to understand the economic and psychosocial impact of this disease, and, ultimately, to find a cure.
To accelerate the pace of food allergy research, FARE seeks to increase:
- The number of scientists and research projects that focus on food allergy,
- The number of food allergy centers of excellence nationwide,
- The number of fellows and physicians trained to treat people with food allergies, and
- The amount of government funding allocated for food allergy research.
FARE’s Research Advisory Board, which comprises leading experts in the field, identifies and recommends funding for studies of the highest quality and greatest promise. All grant applications are rigorously peer-reviewed.
