Ingredients

1 cup dried Great Northern beans
1 cup dried navy beans
6 cups cold water
8 cups water
8 tsp. granulated chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups cooked, diced ham
1 cup chopped carrots
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. mustard powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper

Directions

Rinse and sort beans. Place in a pot
and cover with 6 cups cold water. Soak
overnight. Drain and rinse thoroughly. Set
aside. In large pot, heat 8 cups water until
boiling. Stir in chicken bouillon and salt.
Reduce heat. Add beans and remaining
ingredients. Simmer uncovered, stirring
occasionally, about 2 hours, or until beans
are tender.
