Fudge Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients

Cake
3/4 cup sugar
1 T. milk-free margarine
1/2 cup water
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 T unsweetened cocoa powder

Topping
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/4 cup boiling water

Directions

Cake
Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly grease 9-inch square pan. In medium bowl with an electric mixer, beat sugar and margarine until creamy. Add water and stir. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and unsweetened cocoa powder and add to sugar mixture. Stir well and pour into pan.

Topping
In small bowl, mix sugars and unsweetened cocoa powder well. Spread onto fudge mixture already in pan. Pour boiling water evenly over the top. Bake 30 minutes. Let cool in pan.

    what do i use in placement of wheat flour? we have a wheat allergy.

    This was delicious! It was so nice to have a desert my son can enjoy. Everyone else loved it too.Do let the cake cool all the way, otherwise it has a strong cocoa flavor.

    I think I may have messed up the recipe, I didn't have Powdered chocolate, just Baking saqures and When I did the topping it was super watery. I'll see how it comes out but it looked like I put chocolate water in the oven :(
