Ingredients

2 T. oil
1 (2-lbs.) brisket
3 cloves garlic
1 small onion, chopped
2 (14.5-oz.) cans beef broth
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 lb. carrots, chopped
2 large sweet potatoes, cut into wedges
1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 T. lemon juice
2 T. cornstarch
5 T. water
