Support Groups Lookup

Whether you are new to food allergy or facing a new milestone in your child's life, meeting other families who are in the same situation and sharing experiences and support can be so helpful. More importantly, you understand that you are not alone.

To help you connect with a group in your area, FAAN offers local contact information for support groups across the country. Use the Support Group Lookup Tool, below, to contact groups directly. The inclusion of a group on this voluntary listing does not imply endorsement by FAAN. Indeed, support groups operate wholly independently from FAAN. Be sure to contact your doctor if you have any questions, or before making any changes to your child's diet.

If you are a support group leader and would like to add your support group information to the FAAN website, contact us by e-mail. Be aware that FAAN is not responsible for any contact, private or commercial, that you may receive as a result of posting your support group information. Also note that in order to be included in our listing, your group must meet the following criteria to be listed on our website:

  1. Must provide a letter of support from a board-certified allergist who serves as your medical advisor on said letterhead, along with permission to be listed on FAAN’s website as your medical advisor. (If the board certified allergist does not wish to be listed on FAAN’s website as the medical advisor, we will respect that decision.)
  2. Must have experience managing food allergies.
  3. Must be in existence for at least three months.
  4. Must have held at least one support group meeting within the last three months.
  5. Must receive two testimonials from current members as to how the support group is beneficial to them.
  6. Above information must be updated on an annual basis in order to maintain the listing on the FAAN website.

FAAN, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to include or exclude any support group from this listing.

If you’re interested in starting a support group, FAAN can help. Our webinar provides you with the essential information you need to get started. Then send us an e-mail stating your interest in starting a support group in your area and we will supply additional strategies for starting a support and education group.

As always, feel free to contact FAAN if you have any questions or if we can be of any help to you and your family. Remember, we're all in this together. Until there's a cure, education is the key!
