2010 Heart of FAAN Child Ambassador

The 2010 Heart of FAAN Child Ambassador was Leandro de Armas! Leandro, age 8, proudly represented FAAN throughout the year by talking about his experiences and participating in FAAN events. 

This included being featured in the 2010 FAAN Walk for Food Allergy PSA. Also, be sure to watch the Heart of FAAN Ambassador Program -2010 video which highlights all the things Leandro got to do.

Leandro, who is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and peas, plays the piano as well as tennis and soccer. He also likes to cook, break-dance, learn about insects, swim, read, and play with robots. He has two younger sisters and several pets.

Leandro stays safe by reading labels and making sure that his parents always have an epinephrine auto-injector wherever he goes. He doesn’t eat foods without labels and he eats his own safe cupcakes at birthday celebrations at school.

One of the things that is very important to Leandro is food allergy awareness. He wants to do his part to make the world a safer place for people with food allergies by helping educate others.
