Get involved by organizing events in your area.
Local events organized by FAAN volunteers around the country make a huge impact on the funds and awareness raised for food allergies. From sporting events to jewelry sales, from craft shows to galas, your event can reach a wide range of audiences and can help your community to join in the fight to find a cure for food allergies.
FAAN can offer knowledge and advice on event planning, as well as provide ideas and suggestions on past fundraising projects. Depending on the magnitude of the proposed event, the FAAN staff will also work with volunteers to create promotional materials – as well as provide necessary materials for collection of donations and funds.
If you need help planning your next event, contact Laura Caldwell, Vice President of Development at lcaldwell@foodallergy.org with the following information:
- Name of proposed event
- Description of event and expected promotional materials
- Location
- Date
- Contact information
Lastly, when planning an event, consider the following ideas to boost the success of your efforts:
- Form a committee to help distribute responsibilities
- Create a budget to keep costs down and focus on funds raised
- Promote and publicize the event within your community
- Plan for collection of funds to ensure donations are sent to FAAN
- Acknowledge those who donated and participated in your event
