Food Allergy Awareness Week (FAAW) is the perfect time to take part in fundraising for FAAN. Do your part to continue advancing research and raising awareness of food allergies through fun and exciting fundraisers! Here are some ideas, tips, and suggestions:

  1. Sign up for a FAAN Walk for Food Allergy event in your area. If there is not one close to you, sign up as a virtual walker. And make sure to customize your personal fundraising page, it is a great tool to get the word out to family and friends when asking them to donate!
  2. Use social media to remind family and friends of FAAW and to sign up for the Walk for Food Allergy in their area. Post information about the event on Facebook and Twitter.
  3. Host a small fundraiser in your community, such as:
    • Allergy-friendly bake sale
    • Yard sale
    • Lemonade stand
    • Car wash
    • Dinner party with family and friends
  4. Host a fundraiser at school, such as:
    • Collection jar in a classroom
    • Guessing jar contest
    • Wacky Pajama Day at school
    • Movie Night at the school's auditorium
    • Fun run at the school's track

  6. Use this time to plan your next birthday party. Instead of presents, ask for guests to make a donation to FAAN.
  7. Host a Wii Tournament at a local community center or at a friend's house, a great way to get the whole family involved.
  8. Skate Toward a Cure: Put together a fun outing at a roller rink or ice skating rink. Pump up the excitement with great music!
  9. Bow Toward a Cure: Contact your local bowling alley to organize an event.
  10. Contact local grocery stores and restaurants and ask if they will donate a percentage of a day's sales to FAAN. A common percentage is 10-15%.
  11. Host a fashion show for local children at a community center or school.
  12. Recycle for FAAN: Have a community recycle drive and donate the proceeds.
  13. Contact FAAN for more great ideas or to become more involved.
