FAAN Walk in Baltimore Postponed to Oct. 15
Due to Hurricane Irene, we postponed the FAAN Walk for Food Allergy in Baltimore scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011. We were looking forward to gathering tomorrow and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Initially, we rescheduled the Walk for Oct. 8, as it was the first available date the park had open. We heard from many Walkers who were disappointed with the conflict this caused with Yom Kippur, and we are glad to report that we secured a new date — Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011.
Your support means everything to us. We hope you can join us on Oct. 15 at Meadowbrook Park to support the 15 million Americans with food allergies, including nearly 6 million children. Check in will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the Walk will start at 10:00 a.m.
Together, we will make a difference!
About FAAN
Founded in 1991, the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) is the world leader in information, resources, and programs for food allergy, a potentially life-threatening medical condition that afflicts as many as 15 million Americans, including almost 6 million children. A nonprofit organization based in Fairfax, Va., FAAN is dedicated to increasing public awareness of food allergy and its consequences, to educating people about the condition, and to advancing research on behalf of all those affected by it. FAAN provides information and educational resources about food allergy to patients, their families, schools, health professionals, pharmaceutical companies, the food industry, and government officials. On May 9, 2012, FAAN announced its intent to merge with the other leading food allergy organization, the Food Allergy Initiative, pending state regulatory approval.
