FAAN Receives 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator
FAIRFAX, Va., (February 26, 2009) – The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network is pleased to announce it has been awarded a coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management by one of the nation’s premier charity evaluators.
This is the second consecutive 4-star rating that FAAN has earned for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances. The classification is particularly noteworthy not only because of the current economic climate, but because just 18 percent of organizations rated by Charity Navigator achieve at least two consecutive 4-star evaluations.
The “exceptional” designation from Charity Navigator indicates that FAAN stands out among other charities in the U.S. and that it has consistently moved forward with its goals in a fiscally responsible manner.
“We are pleased to be identified by Charity Navigator as a top-rated organization among thousands of nonprofits,” said Julia E. Bradsher, FAAN chief executive officer. “The evaluation criteria highlight precisely the financial and operational strengths and efficiencies that we work so hard to achieve.”
“In these economic times, it is critical for donors to have independent sources to guide them in their charitable giving and have confidence that organizations they choose to support, like FAAN, are sound in their fiscal management,” continued Bradsher.
“Donors to FAAN have always been assured of accountability practices in place and that their financial support will fund research as well as educational programs throughout the country. This 4-star rating provides another layer of confidence to both existing and new donors.”
Charity Navigator, which uses a unique method of applying data-driven analysis to the charity sector, has been profiled in Forbes and Business Week among other publications.Charity Navigator notified FAAN of its rating on Jan. 30.
