Julie Birkey N. Easton, MA Julie Birkey joined the FAAN Board of Directors in 2009. She has chaired the FAAN Walk for Food Allergy in Boston since 2005 and is also active with the Food Allergy Center at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, including as a member of their Parent Advisory Committee. Julie's oldest daughter, Makenzie, has food allergies to milk, eggs, peanuts, and shellfish. She holds a B.A. degree in business administration from Coe College and a M.B.A. in marketing/advertising from the University of Iowa. The majority of Julie's experience is within the advertising agency arena holding positions within media and account service. Her most recent position was Director of Marketing for Iowa Wireless. |

Tracey Doi Los Angeles, CA Tracey Doi joined the FAAN Board of Directors in 2011. She is the group vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Tracey’s daughter is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. She earned her bachelor's degree in business economics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and her Certified Public Accountant designation while at Arthur Andersen & Co. She completed Toyota’s executive development program affiliated with The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. |

Andrew Gilman Washington, DC Andrew Gilman joined the FAAN Board of Directors in 1999. He is President and CEO of CommCore Consulting Group. For more than 25 years he has been a communications strategist, crisis counselor, and keynote speaker. Co-author of the best-selling book Get to the Point (Bantam 1990), he is also a lawyer, and an award-winning journalist. Andrew’s son, Sam, has multiple food allergies, including peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, lentils, and shellfish. Andrew holds two degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, a B.A. in history and a M.S. in education. His law degree is from Fordham University. |

Michael Lade Houston, TX Michael Lade joined the FAAN Board of Directors in 2009. He is a co-founder, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Everest, a funeral planning and concierge service. Prior to co-founding Everest, he served as a senior executive specializing in corporate development and mergers and acquisitions for two New York Stock Exchange listed companies. He started his career in public accounting with Arthur Anderson. He has also chaired the FAAN Walk for Food Allergy in Houston since its inception in 2006. Michael and his wife have three sons, their oldest, Andrew, has multiple food allergies, including milk, eggs, and peanuts. He holds a bachelor of business administration in accounting from Southwestern University. |

Bob Lake Bristow, VA Lloyd Robert Lake Jr. (Bob) joined the FAAN Board of Directors in 2011. He served in the Center for the Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for over 30 years. He retired as CFSAN’s Director of Regulations and Policy in 2004. Since retiring, Bob has served as a food safety consultant. His consulting has included work for the FDA concerning the safety of imported foods and work for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Cairo to improve food safety in Egypt. Bob received his B.A. degree from Georgia State College and his J.D. degree from Emory University. |

Adam Miller Santa Monica, CA Adam Miller joined the FAAN Board of Directors in 2010. He is the founder and CEO of Cornerstone OnDemand, a firm specializing in learning and talent management software, and chairman of the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, which provides non-profits with the software, support, and consulting services needed to manage and develop their staff and increase their impact in the communities they serve. Prior to founding Cornerstone OnDemand, Adam worked as an attorney and as an investment banker. He also has co-authored two books, Business Capital for Women and Managing Your Inheritance. Miller has a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, an M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Business, a B.S. from the Wharton School, and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. |

Sylvia Rowe Washington, D.C. Sylvia Rowe joined the FAAN Board of Directors in 2009. She is president of SR Strategy pursuing communications and issues management consulting on a broad range of health, nutrition, food safety and risk issues. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. For 11 years she was the CEO and President of the International Food Information Council (IFIC) and IFIC Foundation. She retired in 2005. Sylvia is a distinguished speaker for the Institute of Food Technologists and Contributing Editor of Nutrition Today. She has a bachelor's degree from Wellesley College and was awarded a master’s degree from Harvard University. |
