It's a Disease, Not a Diet

Sung is FARE’s CEO, joining the organization in May 2022 from Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) where she served as Chief Executive Officer since 2011. She has an extensive and varied background, receiving Bachelor and Master of Science degrees, as well as a PhD in nursing, from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She began her teaching career at Rutgers over 25 years ago and continues to serve as a visiting associate professor at their School of Nursing. In 2016, Sung was inducted into Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni, joining a select group of more than 200 honorees across Rutgers’ 256-year history who have devoted time and energy to the greater good of society. 

Early in her career, Sung held executive positions with a focus on patient outcomes and disease management. Notably, as vice president of clinical operations for a subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care North America, she developed and ran national chronic kidney disease management programs. As executive director of the Oxford Health Plans Foundation, she facilitated grants that furthered research and programs aimed at improving health care delivery. 

The recipient of numerous high-level research funding grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute of Health, National Science Foundation, and private foundations, Sung also sits on several Boards including the Executive Board of the Osteosarcoma Institute, Apricity Health, and Proteus Ocean Group. 

Jaime Rupert is an award-winning story-teller,  thought leader, conservationist and documentary film maker, leaving a lasting effect on the world by changing and elevating the landscape where meaningful conversations take place.

As a 30-year strategic communications executive, creating and implementing initiatives she has generated over $17B in economic impact establishing a competitive advantage for iconic brands and global companies. The breadth of her career shapes the way we experience life today— from aviation security, the Olympics, life sciences, entertainment, Major League Baseball, technology, healthcare, food and agriculture.

Jaime found unexpected purpose in life by rescuing rhinos in South Africa. Bringing awareness to the plight of this magnificent species to the world is nothing short of impossible. But as her life has shown her, everything is possible, you just need to stay persistent in your heart and soul and the magic that you need to make things happen will always appear.

Michael joins the team as Video Content Producer, responsible for creating entertaining and informative content for FARE’s social media and video channels. Michael is a producer, director, editor and development executive with over 15 years of experience, creating high quality content for television and streaming platforms. Previously, Michael served as VP of Development for Grandma’s House Entertainment where he developed and produced shows for major networks, cable, and streaming platforms. Some include FOX, Netflix, TBS, IFC, E!, Travel Channel, and PopTV.  Michael is also an award-winning filmmaker, taking home honors for several of his short films and web series, including this year’s Lift-Off Global Network Festival and HorrorHaus Film Festival. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his young daughter, and when he’s not building Legos, having pretend tea parties or Minecraft-ing, he can usually be found decompressing on the golf course or watching his beloved Minnesota Vikings. 

As FARE’s Director of Digital Marketing, Brian is responsible for assisting in the creation and development of the organization's overall marketing strategy. Brian is a creative marketing professional who specializes in brand storytelling, client relations, and digital engagement across all platforms. He is also an accomplished photojournalist whose work has been featured in publications around the world. Prior to joining FARE, Brian worked as a creative director, producer, and social media strategist, combining his understanding of brand culture and acquisition strategy to develop and execute strategic creative programs from end to end. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a degree in marketing and communications, Brian now lives in New Jersey where he continues to pursue his passions of photography and professional modeling.
