How to Ask for a Donation
Asking for donations is easier for some people than for others. Here are some examples to help you and your kids ask for donations to FAAN’s Trick-or-Treat for Food Allergy :
“Hi my name is ______. Instead of candy, I’m collecting donations for food allergy education and research. Would you like to make a donation?”
“Hi my name is ______. I (or my sister, cousin, friend) have a food allergy and have to be careful not to eat a food that would cause a reaction. So instead of collecting candy, I’m collecting donations to help others just like me (or my sister, cousin, friend)! Would you like to make a donation?”
And, of course, don’t forget to say “please” and “thank you”!
Remember that you and your kids can ask family, friends, and neighbors to make a donation online as well as in person. Just be sure that online donations include the participant’s name in the Comments field, so that he or she is eligible to win a prize.
How to Make a Donation
There are two ways to make a donation to Trick-or-Treat for Food Allergy: online, and by mail. After all donations have been collected, make a donation to FAAN for the total amount raised. Donations must be postmarked by November 30, or be received online by that date, to be eligible for prizes.
For online donations, remember that the child’s name and age must be typed in the donation comment box of the form for them to be eligible to win a prize. If we don’t know who they are, we can’t reward them for their good work. Make sure to select Trick-or-Treat for Food Allergy as the program to make a donation for. Donate now!
To donate by mail, fill out the donation submission form you received with your collection box, and send it in the return envelope, along with your donation (by check, money order, or credit card) for the total amount raised, to:
